Love… what is an unexplainable thing? In the world, love is the thing that is the most
wanted thing for all living kinds, and also, still it hasn’t a proper meaning. Even animals want love. In this world, every living creature, whatever the size, color, or breed, desires to be loved and accepted. We talked about many things here about dogs. When we are talking about dogs, they play a huge role in love. Sometimes we have no words to appreciate that. Many dogs are left without a home due to circumstances beyond their control, despite providing endless love and loyalty.
There are so many shelters located all around the world that are home to many dogs.
Each of them has a unique backstory and is patiently waiting for their chance to find a loving home. You can see hope and sadness in their eyes, they are waiting for someone to adopt them with their unbearable hopes. They eagerly wait at the doors of their cages, wagging their tails, hoping to find a loving family. However, most of them return to their corners when no one chooses them. Today here comes the story of one such dog, whose dreams of finding a loving home rarely come true.

Hopes beyond the cages…
Nicholas was a gentle canine resident at a shelter located in Orlando, Florida. When he
was rescued and brought to the shelter, he was extremely scared and timid. However, as time went by, he began to realize that he was in a safe environment and that the staff there really cared for him. Gradually, he started to relax and grew fond of all the shelter employees.
Waiting…
Nicholas, an adorable dog at the shelter, the furry little pup eagerly waited for potential
adopters to arrive and take him to his new forever home. Every time someone entered the shelter, he would wag his tail in the hope that they would pick him. Despite his excitement, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, but nobody seemed to take an interest in adopting him. Nicholas watched sadly as other dogs, who came after him, got adopted and left with their new families. After getting disappointed so many times, Nicholas started to lose hope and thought he might never get to leave the shelter.

That could make it heartbroken …
Nicholas was not the only dog in the shelter with a broken heart. The staff at the shelter
felt the same sadness when they saw that Nicholas was continuously being overlooked by
potential adopters. Most people were interested in adopting smaller dogs, and as a result, they did not pay much attention to bigger dogs like Nicholas. However, what they didn’t know was that Nicholas was a friendly dog who loved people and was desperately hoping for a loving family to adopt him.

When Outside …
Nicholas enjoyed spending time outdoors, and a volunteer took him for a walk every
day. However, these walks weren’t enough to satisfy him. Every time he returned from a walk, his reaction was the same: he didn’t want to go back to his cage. Instead, he wanted to play and run around freely. The staff at the shelter were well aware that if someone spent just a few minutes with Nicholas, they would quickly realize what a wonderful dog he was. Bryant from Orange County Animal Services affirmed that they were fully aware of the kind of dog Nicholas was. They knew that he was an amazing dog, one of those canines that just love people. Nicholas craved attention and affection, he wanted to snuggle and be on someone’s lap.
Hoping for a home…
Nicholas, a sweet and loving dog, had been living at the shelter for over a year, which
made him the longest resident there. Despite receiving love and attention from the shelter staff and volunteers, he had not found a permanent home yet. The staff tried their best to find him a forever home by sharing his story on social media and local news channels, but unfortunately, no one had come forward to meet him yet.

Pick Nick Saturday…
The shelter staff organized a special event called “Pick Nick Saturday” with the hope
of finding a loving home for Nicholas. However, a week before the event, a woman visited the shelter and immediately fell in love with Nicholas. Bryant recalls that she met him, liked him, and couldn’t stop thinking about him.
Did the hope come true…?
When the woman decided to adopt Nicholas, everyone was thrilled. However,
Nicholas’s new beginning was short-lived. Despite her good intentions, his new owner was
unable to devote enough time to help Nicholas adjust to living in a home. As a result, he would bark excessively when she was away, and his constant noise began to bother the neighbors. The woman had to make a difficult decision. She loved her new pet, but knew he needed more attention and care than she could provide. Ultimately, she decided to return Nicholas to the shelter, hoping that he could find a loving family who could give him the time and attention he needed to be happy.

Back To the Shelter…
When Nicholas came back to the shelter, he acted differently than other dogs. The staff
was surprised to see that he did not seem upset at all. He was just as happy as always because he could see his friends at the shelter again. Despite this, the shelter did not give up on finding Nicholas a permanent home. They continued to post about him on various online platforms. Finally, on April 29th, 2023, they announced that Nicholas had found his forever family.
It’s time to say Good Bye…
The shelter staff was feeling both sad and happy as they said goodbye to Nicholas. On
one hand, they were sad to see him go, but on the other, they were really happy that he had finally found a loving home. When Nicholas’ new dad came to take him home, he wagged his tail and smiled with excitement. His new family promised to always love him and never give up on him.
After spending more than 500 days in the shelter, Nicholas was finally going to a real
home. He was thrilled to leave the hard shelter floors for a soft dog bed. When he got into the car to go to his new home, his happiness was evident. It appeared that Nicholas knew he had finally found his happy ending.
