Life is like a huge adventure, full of ups and downs. But for animals out there on their
own, it’s like a never-ending challenge. They have to find food, stay safe, and cope with
loneliness without anyone to rely on. It’s tough and sometimes scary for them, and all they can do is hope for someone to show them kindness.
Thankfully, some amazing people step in to help these animals. They rescue them from
danger, give them love and care, and find them new families where they can feel safe and loved. These stories show us how powerful kindness can be. They remind us that even in a world where sadness exists, there are still incredible people making a big difference by showing compassion to animals in need.
A lost dog…
One day, Jessie Goetze saw a post on Facebook about a lost dog in a parking lot. She
didn’t think much about it then. The next day, while driving home, she saw the same dog walking alone on a beach in the rain. That’s when she realized it was the dog from the Facebook post.
She realized that she had to help the dog. She checked her car and found only a yoga
strap and a belt. She took them and went to the dog, but it ran away when she tried to put them on it. She knew the dog was scared because something bad had happened to it.

Sense of purpose…
Jessie couldn’t give up looking for the dog. It was looking at the sea sadly. When the
changing with the sea wave, it went back to the sea and stood in the sea. Jessie tried to close it. But when the dog saw her, it ran into a bush nearby.
Jessie went again and again to the beach to see the dog. Unfortunately dog was not there,
the only things that could see her were paw prints on the beach. The dog made steps between the beach and the bushes nearby. She could never see the dog there. She shared its picture on her FB profile and told everyone about the sad beach dog.
Volunteers came in…
Lots of people knew about this dog because the news about him was everywhere. Then,
some nice people who wanted to help, like Jessie, joined her. They left blankets and food,
searched for footprints, and tried to catch the dog or make him feel safe. But the scared dog kept running away. Jessie thought they might never catch him.

Trustworthy…
Jessie didn’t want to give up on the dog, no matter the cost. She spent a whole weekend
searching for him on different beaches but couldn’t find him. One morning, she and her daughter went back to the first beach and saw fresh paw prints in the sand. They also saw that the food they left was gone. Jessie thought this was a sign. But she wanted to be sure it was the right dog. So she put up a camera near the food they left. Finally, her efforts paid off. They spotted the lost dog again.
Rescue…
Jessie wanted to gain the dog’s trust without scaring him. So she listened to the volunteer
team’s advice and tried to make friends with the dog. Every day, she left food for him. The
camera showed that he took the food shortly after she left. But he was still scared of people.

One day, Jessie decided to do whatever it took to save the dog. She told herself she’d stay
on the beach until dark if needed to earn his trust. Like always, she left food in the usual spot several times that day. But this time, when he came, she turned away, following the helpers’ advice. She pretended to eat and dropped a treat in the sand while keeping an eye on him. Her patience paid off. When she tossed food to him, he got closer than ever before. She quickly put a leash on him. Finally, the lonely dog was on his way to safety.

New, Home…
When they got home, Jessie named him ‘Ocean’. He seemed happy to be around people
after being alone for so long. But Ocean didn’t know how to act like a regular dog because of his tough past. Jessie didn’t give up on him. She patiently taught him basic commands. In just a week, he learned cool tricks like sitting, staying, lying down, and rolling over. And just like that, Ocean became a cherished part of Jessie’s family.
Happy Ending…
Jessie had to move her family to a tiny apartment because of the housing crisis. But it
wasn’t big enough for Ocean, who was a big dog. It was really sad, but she knew Ocean needed more space. So, she made a hard decision to find him a new home through adoption.

Jessie shared on Facebook that Ocean found a new home. She loved him a lot, so she made sure his new family was perfect for him before letting him go. Saying goodbye was tough for Jessie, but she was also happy. Ocean’s journey was incredible. When he was rescued, he was sad and lonely. But now he’s a happy dog with a loving family. It’s all because Jessie never gave up on earning Ocean’s trust.
